Laura Poiret Killed in Rio Vista Car Accident on Highway 12 and Summerset Road
Rio Vista, California (July 29, 2022) – Laura Poiret was among four people killed in a collision in Rio Vista on Wednesday evening, according to a report by the Rio Vista police.
The incident took place on Highway 12 and Summerset Road at about 8:15 p.m. on July 27.
A 20-year-old driving a Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Highway 12 when the driver swerved off the roadway, then overcorrected into the eastbound side, where the Honda collided head-on with an oncoming suburban.
Poiret was a passenger in the SUV and was killed in the collision.
Six parties, including an 8-year-old and a teenage girl, were reported to have been injured, and all were in stable condition.
Three occupants of the Honda were also killed in the accident. The driver, a 20-year-old Rancho Cordova man, and a passenger in the rear of the vehicle were ejected by the impact of the accident.
The SUV was reportedly carrying seven Mexican nationals who were on vacation in California.
The crash caused a closure of both directions of Highway 12 as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
