One Hurt in Fresno Car Accident on Clovis Avenue near Highway 99

Fresno, California (July 29, 2022) – One person was hurt in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Clovis Avenue near Highway 99 in Fresno Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, seven cars were involved in the pile-up after the driver of a sweeper truck fell asleep on the wheel.
The sweeper truck driver failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the rear of a van that was stopped at the red light.
The truck continued on and struck a power pole. The impact brought down power lines onto the roadway.
Another motorist tried to avoid the crashed vehicles but collided with the downed wires and caused a second power pole to fall down.
Four other vehicles were struck by the falling wires.
The driver of the van was reportedly injured in the accident.
There were no other injuries reported in the incident.
The CHP officers are conducting an investigation into the incident.
