Officer Steve Hunt Killed in Fresno Bicycle Accident on McKinley Grove Road near Wishon Campground
Fresno, California (July 31, 2022) – The Fresno Police Department officer who died in a bicycle accident near Shaver Lake on Saturday night has been identified as Steve Hunt, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on McKinley Grove Road near the Wishon Campground just after 10:30 a.m. on July 30.
Officer Hunt was reportedly riding a bike northbound on the right-hand shoulder of the road when he slid and was struck by a southbound Toyota Tundra.
Authorities said Officer Hunt died following the incident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Fresno, California (July 30, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a bicycle accident that occurred on Saturday morning near Shaver Lake in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened on Mc Kinley Grove Road near Blackrock Road at around 10:38 a.m.
A bicyclist was traveling on the roadway and was hit by a Toyota pickup truck.
Officials say one person was killed in the accident.
