1 Seriously Injured in Car Crash on 80 Freeway near Pinole Valley Road in Contra Costa
Contra Costa, California (July 31, 2022) – One person sustained major injuries in a Saturday afternoon car accident in Pinole, Contra Costa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on westbound 80 Freeway near Pinole Valley Road.
A silver sedan and a second vehicle were recovered at the accident scene. The impact of the collision sent one of the vehicles off the roadway and down an embankment.
Two female occupants had to be extricated from the wreckage.
Officials say one person was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
