Briana Day Arrested after Fatal Walnut Creek Accident near North Main Street and Pine Avenue
Walnut Creek, California (July 31, 2022) – Briana Day, 28, of Concord, was arrested in connection with a deadly pedestrian accident that took place near North Main Street and Pine Avenue in Walnut Creek early Saturday morning.
According to the Walnut Creek police, the incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. July 30.
Police said two pedestrians were walking on the sidewalk when they were hit by a pickup truck that also crashed into a cement pillar.
One person died at the scene of the collision.
A second party was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Day was identified as the driver of the truck. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The names of the victims in the collision were not immediately released.
The Walnut Creek Police Department is investigating the incident.
