Jim Fuentes ID'd as Man Killed in Fresno Car Accident on North Fruit Avenue and Tenaya Way
Fresno, California (August 2, 2022) – The man who died as a result of a head-on collision in Fresno on Friday night has been identified as Jim Fuentes, 57, according to the Fresno County Coroner's Office.
The incident took place in the area of North Fruit Avenue and Tenaya Way shortly after 9 p.m. on July 29.
According to authorities, Fuentes was driving a Scion southbound on Fruit Avenue when he swerved into the northbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Nissan Altima driven by a 15-year-old.
Fuentes was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the site of the collision.
The other driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the deadly collision.

Fresno, California (July 30, 2022) – One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision that happened on Friday evening in Fresno.
The deadly crash happened at around 9:05 p.m. on Fruit Avenue south of Tenaya Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man in his 50s was driving a black Scion southbound in the no. 1 lane when it drifted into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Nissan Altima.
The man in the Scion was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Altima suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officials say alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor for the driver in the Altima, but the driver of the Scion is under investigation.
More details about the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
