1 Dies in San Leandro Accident on Washington Avenue and Castro Street
San Leandro, California (August 2, 2022) – One person was killed in a crash involving a dirt bike rider in San Leandro on Saturday afternoon, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
The incident took place just after 4:00 p.m. on July 31, near Washington Avenue and Castro Street.
According to police, a 25-year-old man was riding a dirt bike in the area when he was involved in a collision with a van.
The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
It's unclear whether alcohol played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
