Raquel Zapata Killed in Lompoc Accident on West Ocean Avenue
Lompoc, California (August 2, 2022) – Raquel Zapata, 42, of Lompoc, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a collision with an alleged drunk driver in Lompoc early Saturday morning, according to a report by the Lompoc Police Department.
The wreck occurred at around 1:49 a.m. on July 30, in the 600 block of West Ocean Avenue.
Police said Zapata was hit by a vehicle in the area under unclear circumstances.
Zapata was taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
