1 Killed in Stockton Car Accident on E Mariposa Road near Murphy Road
Stockton, California (August 2, 2022) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday evening near Farmington in Stockton, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place at about 5:44 p.m. on East Mariposa Road, just east of Murphy Road, not far from the Collegeville Rural Fire Department.
As per the report, a white GMC Yukon SUV and a black sedan were involved in the collision. The sedan rolled over and came back on its wheels.
The SUV was reportedly weaving in and out of traffic lanes, tailgating other motorists prior to the collision.
The SUV driver got out of the vehicle after the accident.
Collegeville firefighters responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
Fire Captain Bonham pronounced one person dead at the scene at 5:55 p.m.
It was not clear if the SUV driver was injured.
Both cars were towed away from the scene.
Police are investigating the accident.
