Two Cars Collide on Bolsa Road near Bloomfield Avenue in Gilroy, Leaving at Least 1 with Major Injuries
Gilroy, California (August 2, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a two-car accident that happened Tuesday evening in Gilroy, leaving at least one person with major injuries.
The accident was reported at around 5:32 p.m. on Bolsa Road, just north of Bloomfield Avenue.
A Honda Accord collided with an Audi sedan under unclear circumstances.
One of the cars caught fire while a passenger was still inside. The driver was able to exit the vehicle with visible injuries.
Several parties got out of their cars and attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and helped the motorists.
The report said at least one person was sent to the hospital with major injuries. A possible second person was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Both vehicles were towed away with major front-end damage.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
