Natalia Mesa Hurt in Lompoc Accident on Highway 1 near San Antonio Road
Lompoc, California (August 2, 2022) – Natalia Mesa, 21, of Santa Maria, was injured in a deadly car accident in Lompoc on Thursday, according to authorities.
The incident occurred on Highway 1 near San Antonio Road on Thursday, July 28.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, Mesa was driving a GMC Yukon northbound on Highway 1 when she drifted into the opposing lane and collided head-on with an oncoming motorcyclist.
The motorcycle then collided with a southbound Lincoln Navigator.
Two other motorists swerved to the center lane to avoid the Yukon.
The rider of the motorcycle, Faysal Hekmat, 33, of Santa Maria, died at the site of the collision.
Mesa suffered minor injuries and was transported to Marian Hospital for treatment.
Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
