Police Officer Hurt After Clovis Car Accident at  Minnewawa and Alluvial Avenues

, California (August 3, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a that left a police officer with injuries on Monday in Clovis, .

The accident occurred at Minnewawa and Alluvial Avenues on August 2.

Officials said that officer was traveling north on Minnewawa Avenues in a marked Clovis patrol cruiser when they collided with a Telsa that ran a red light at the intersection.

Emergency crews and medics rushed to the scene and assisted the officer who hurt his hand in the accident. It was reported that the patrol car had airbags deployed that caused the injury.

Authorities said the male Telsa driver was not hurt in the collision. The man remained at the accident location and cooperated with the investigation.

The incident is still under investigation.
