2 Killed in Orange Cove Car Accident at Manning Avenue and Hills Valley Road
Orange Cove, California (August 9, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a deadly car accident that left two persons with fatal injuries on Monday afternoon just south of Orange Cove.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at about noon on August 8 at Manning Avenue and Hiss Valley Road.
Per the report, a Toyota 4Runner ran a stop sign at the junction before driving into a commercial semi-truck lane. The two vehicles ultimately collided. The impact of the accident caused both cars to overturn. The Toyota burst into flames following the accident.
Emergency crews and medics responded to the scene and declared the SUV driver and their passenger dead at the accident scene.
The big rig driver was treated for minor injuries before he was taken to a medical center in Tulare County.
The names of the deceased and injured driver were not immediately released.
Authorities closed the intersection for three hours due to the collision.
An investigation is underway.
