Amandeep Toor Killed in Merced County Accident on Santa Fe Drive near Franklin Road
Merced County, California (August 10, 2022) – Amandeep Toor, 38, of Atwater, was one of three people who were killed in a traffic collision on Sunday morning in Merced County, according to a report by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner's Office.
Authorities responded to the incident just before 6 a.m. on August 7, on Santa Fe Drive west of Franklin Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, David Faulkner, 33, of Merced, was driving a Jeep Patriot west on Santa Fe Drive when he drifted onto the eastbound side and crashed head-on into an oncoming Nissan Rogue that was being driven by Toor.
The crash killed both drivers and a passenger in the Jeep, identified as Jenny Faulkner, 33, of Merced.
Authorities suspect alcohol played a role in the accident, which remained under investigation.

Merced, California (August 7, 2022) – Three people died Sunday morning when two vehicles collided head-on on Santa Fe Avenue, authorities said.
A Nissan Rogue and a Jeep Patriot were involved in the collision at about 5:55 a.m. near Franklin Road.
Police said a 34-year-old Merced man was driving the Jeep westbound at an unknown speed with a 34-year-old female passenger. At the same time, a 38-year-old Turlock man was driving the Nissan eastbound at an unknown speed.
Authorities said, for unknown reasons, the Jeep veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the Nissan.
Responding emergency personnel pronounced all three dead at the scene. The report said the woman was seated in the rear seat and was not wearing her seatbelt.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
