Scooter Rider Injured in Alpine Car Accident on Harbison Canyon Road near Shadow Hills Elementary

Alpine, California (August 14, 2022) – A vehicle struck and injured a child riding a scooter in Alpine on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at about 8:50 p.m. on August 13, on Harbison Canyon Road near Shadow Hills Elementary.
The child, identified as a 12-year-old, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It's unclear what led up to the collision.
Authorities said DUI is not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The accident led to the closure of Harbison Canyon Road for nearly 20 minutes as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the scooter accident is underway.
