Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on East Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton

, California (August 17, 2022) – A 46-year-old motorcycle rider died following a collision with a vehicle on East Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton on Tuesday morning, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 2200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue, near the (57) Freeway at around 11:40 a.m. on August 16.

Police said the 46-year-old man was riding a 2004 Honda motorcycle south on East Orangethorpe Avenue at a high rate of speed when he collided with the back of a 2022 Ford Maverick compact pickup that was making a turn into a parking lot. 

The rider of the motorcycle was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Ford was unhurt and stayed at the scene.

It's unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

The Fullerton Police Department is investigating the collision.
