Camp Pendleton, California (August 17, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday morning traffic accident involving a trailer that killed a 20-year-old male motorcyclist from in Camp Pendleton.

The deadly accident happened at about 12:36 a.m. on near Las Pulgas Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle operated by the 20-year-old man was on the Number 3 lane when it crashed into the back of an empty horse trailer that was being towed by a Ford pickup in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, the male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck's driver, a 29-year-old man, was not injured in the accident.

Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
