Penelope Fetsch Critically Hurt in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash on Colusa Avenue and Solano Avenue

North Berkeley, California (August 20, 2022) – 70-year-old Penelope Fetsch was struck and severely injured by a car on Saturday last week in North Berkeley, according to a local news source.
The major pedestrian accident happened at around 7:15 p.m. on August 13, on Colusa Avenue and Solano Avenue.
Per the source article, Fetsch was walking inside a crosswalk on Colusa Avenue when a driver heading west on Solano Avenue hit her. Authorities said the driver turned right onto Colusa Avenue when the accident occurred.
Firefighters and medics responded to the accident location. They rushed Fetsch to Highland hospital, where she was admitted to ICU for four days. The woman broke her ribs and pelvis and sustained severe abrasions and cuts.
Authorities confirmed that the involved driver remained at the crash site following the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
