Miguel Amaya Dies, Clarenda Razon Injured in Crash on Avenue O in Antelope Valley

Antelope Valley, California (August 25, 2022) – Authorities released the names of the two people involved in a deadly Monday afternoon Antelope Valley crash.
Miguel Amaya, of Palmdale, was killed in the collision, and Clarenda Razon, 37, of Lancaster, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Their vehicles collided at around 1:15 p.m. on Avenue O, just west of 220th Street East.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Razon was driving her 2016 Honda eastbound on Avenue O when, for unknown reasons, allowed the vehicle to cross into the opposing lane and collide head-on into Amaya's 2015 Nissan heading westbound.
Amaya was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
Razon was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Authorities are investigating whether alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the collision.

Antelope Valley, California (August 22, 2022) – One person was killed while another suffered major injuries in a head-on collision in the Antelope Valley Monday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The incident occurred on 240th Street and Avenue O shortly before 1:30 p.m.
One of the vehicles is believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second person had to be extricated from the wreckage and was airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
