At Least 1 Hurt in San Bernardino Accident on 15 Freeway near Mathews Ranch Road
San Bernardino, California (August 22, 2022) – Two children and two adults were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday morning on a freeway in San Bernardino, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pileup was reported at about 10:18 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near Mathews Ranch Road.
A black Tesla Model 3, a white BMW and a third car were involved in the accident, blocking several traffic lanes.
One person who complained of pain was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
Two young children were also taken to the same hospital as a precaution alongside their mother who was not injured.
Authorities did not immediately determine the cause of the accident, but they are investigating.

- Parents and drivers should follow school policies and procedures for picking up and dropping off students.
- Stop for school buses and watch for students rushing to catch or exiting the bus.
- Parents should teach the children walking or riding to and from school how to cross the road safely, such as looking both ways before crossing the street, crossing at marked crosswalks, and using available sidewalks.
