Cromberg Car Accident
Thomas Calvery Hurt when Out-of-Control Car Hits RV Park Trailer in Cromberg

Cromberg, California (August 23, 2022) – 38-year-old Thomas Calvery of Vancouver was injured when an out-of-control car crashed into his trailer at an RV park in Cromberg, a local news source reported Monday.

The driver of the car was also injured and flown to a hospital for treatment.

According to police, 61-year-old Barry Waters, of Reno, was driving a Honda CR-V westbound on Highway 70 approaching the Golden RV park.

At the same time, Calvery was sitting at the dinette table of his Jayco trailer at the RV park located in the camping space on the south side of the highway.

Authorities said for unknown reasons, Waters allowed his vehicle to drift off the main portion of the highway onto the dirt/gravel shoulder. Waters lost control of the car, causing it to travel across both traffic lanes to the north and onto the north shoulder. The vehicle continued out of control and crossed both traffic lanes again back to the south, went down an embankment, and hit Calvery's trailer.

Calvery was thrown from his seat into the refrigerator opposite the dinette table and then onto the floor. He sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by responding emergency personnel.

Waters was flown to Renown Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Next to Calvery's trailer were several other travel trailers, utility trailers, and motor vehicles. It was not clear if they were also hit by the car.
