Man Killed in Irvine Bicycle Accident on Alton Parkway near Technology Drive
Irvine, California (August 24, 2022) – A man was killed when the bicycle he was riding crashed into a truck stopped in the area of Alton Parkway near Technology Drive in Irvine Tuesday morning, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The incident occurred at around 7:25 a.m. on August 23.
The truck belonged to workers performing landscaping work in the area and was stopped on the side of the road when it was struck by the cyclist.
The cylist, a 69-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the truck stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the incident.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
