Two Hurt in Santa Maria Car Crash on Highway 1 near Ray Road

Santa Maria, California (August 25, 2022) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Santa Maria early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Highway 1, just north of Ray Road, shortly before 4:43 a.m.
According to the CHP, a Toyota Prius and a farm tractor were involved in the collision on the northbound side of the highway.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the scene and attended to the parties involved in the collision.
Two passengers in the Prius were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center. One of the patients had minor injuries, while the second had major injuries.
The operator of the tractor was not injured in the collision.
Authorities said the weather was foggy at the time of the accident.
Both directions of Highway 1 were blocked as authorities worked to clear the scene.
Further details on the incident were not immediately available.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
