2 Hospitalized after Highway 97 Car Accident in Siskiyou County
Siskiyou County, California (August 27, 2022) – A Saturday morning two-vehicle collision in Siskiyou County sent two people to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at about 11:20 a.m. on Highway 97 near Grass Lake.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident involved a red Pacifica van and a silver Toyota sedan.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the crash.
One driver and a passenger sustained unspecified injuries in the crash. According to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office, a Mercy Air ambulance was dispatched to airlift one of the patients but was later canceled and the patient transported by a ground ambulance. The other patient was also hospitalized.
The sedan was towed away with front-end damage and the van with side damage.
CHP is investigating the collision.
