47-Year-Old Chico Man Killed in Chico Accident on Neal Road near McCann Drive
Chico, California (August 31, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred in Chico on Tuesday night.
The crash happened on Neal Road near McCann Drive at around 7:38 p.m. on August 30.
According to CHP, a 47-year-old man from Chico was riding a motorcycle northbound on Neal Road when he drifted into the southbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming BMW SUV.
The drivers of the motorcycle and the SUV were both transported to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries and the motorcyclist died at the hospital.
A passenger in the SUV had minor injuries but was not transported.
Authorities closed Neal Road for nearly one and a half hours as they conducted an investigation into the incident.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
