Ojai Man Dies Killed in Santa Barbara Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101

Santa Barbara, California (September 1, 2022) – A 31-year-old Ojai man was killed in a motorcycle accident that happened on Wednesday morning in Santa Barbara, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at around 10 a.m. on August 31, on Highway 101 near Salinas Street.
According to the report, the Ojai man was riding a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the rear of a blue 2022 Honda CRV driven by a 61-year-old Ojai woman.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist from the motorcycle and onto the road.
The rider, whose name has not yet been released, died at the scene of the accident.
At least one northbound lane of Highway 101 was closed for nearly two hours as crews worked at the scene
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
