8-Year-Old Bicyclist Injured in Coto de Caza Accident on Coto de Caza Drive and Oso Parkway

Coto de Caza, California (September 2, 2022) – A boy riding a bicycle was struck and injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Coto de Caza on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at Coto de Caza Drive and Oso Parkway at around 7:25 a.m. on September 1.
According to the report, the 8-year-old boy was riding a bicycle westbound on Coto de Caza Drive when he was hit by a 1999 Ford F-150 that had been going east on Oso Parkway and attempting to turn left onto northbound Coto de Caza Drive.
The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
He was taken to Mission Hospital with serious injuries.
The involved motorist stayed at the scene after the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
