Man Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Crash on Hellyer Avenue and Ridgebrook Way

San Jose, California (September 4, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Saturday morning in San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The incident took place in the area near Hellyer Avenue and Ridgebrook Way at around 3:33 a.m. on September 3.
According to the report, a 2007 Toyota sedan was heading east on Hellyer Avenue when the driver slammed into three parked vehicles.
The driver then got out of the sedan and as he was walking on the street, he was hit by a 2000 Dodge truck operated by an adult male.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the Dodge was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter and was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The San Jose Police Department is investigating the incident.
