1 Dies, Several Injured After Cathedral City Accident on Date Palm Drive
Cathedral City, California (September 4, 2022) – One person was killed and several others injured following a deadly head-on collision on Sunday morning in Cathedral City, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on September 4, on Date Palm Drive, south of Varner Road.
Per the source article, a vehicle was heading north when it veered into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason. The vehicle ultimately crashed head-on into another car.
Responding fire officials and medics declared the northbound car driver dead at the accident location.
The people occupying the second vehicle suffered moderate injuries in the accident. They were tranpsorted to a medical center for treatment.
The names of the victims were not immediately provided.
Officials closed part of Date Palm Drive briefly following the accident.
