Rider Hospitalized after 5 Freeway Motorcycle Crash near 8th Street in National City
National City, California (September 7, 2022) – A motorcyclist was severely injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday afternoon on a freeway in National City, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred at about 2:25 p.m. on southbound 5 Freeway, near 8th Street.
Authorities said a motorcycle and two cars, all of unknown make and model, were involved in the pileup for unknown reasons.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, including de-gloving of the right hand and a compound fracture of the right wrist. The patient was transported to UCSD Medical Center for treatment.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
