Li Zhi Hurt in Fatal Lassen County Accident on Highway 395 near Old Milford Road
Lassen County, California (September 13, 2022) – Li Zhi, 50, of Fremont, was seriously injured in a fatal crash Friday night in Lassen County, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred at around 9:04 p.m. on September 9, on Highway 395 just south of Old Milford Road.
CHP said a man was driving a 2008 Nissan north on Highway 395 when he swerved into the southbound side and collided head-on with a southbound 2018 Tesla.
Zhi was one of two people riding in the Nissan. They suffered major injuries and were both flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The operator of the Tesla, who was not immediately identified, was killed in the accident.
The crash caused a closure of the southbound lanes of Highway 395 as authorities worked at the scene.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the CHP.
