Arvin Man and Woman Killed in Crash at Malaga Road and Sunset Boulevard in Arvin
Arvin, California (September 13, 2022) – 48-year-old Martha Alicia Flores and 65-year-old Monte Harold Johnson, both from Arvin, were among the three people who died in a last week big rig collision in Arvin, as per authorities.
The collision occurred at around 10 p.m. Friday, September 9, at Malaga Road and Sunset Boulevard.
According to CHP, a blue 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer traveling north on Malaga Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Sunset Boulevard and broadsided a 1997 Honda.
Flores was the driver of the Honda, and Johnson and another person were her passengers. The three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim's identity is yet to be released.
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors.
CHP is investigating the collision.
