26-Year-Old Oxnard Man Killed in Moorpark Car Accident on Highway 118 near Grimes Canyon Road

Moorpark, California (September 14, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday afternoon head-on collision that killed a 26-year-old Oxnard man in Moorpark.
The deadly accident occurred on Highway 118, west of Grimes Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Oxnard man was driving a 2014 Mercedes C-series sedan westbound on the highway when he collided head-on with an oncoming 2022 Chevrolet box truck.
The Mercedes reportedly entered a right curve in the roadway when for unknown reasons, veered into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of the box truck operated by a 49-year-old Moorpark man.
Sadly, the 26-year-old Oxnard man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 49-year-old Moorpark man was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
It was unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Traffic was stopped for about two hours due to the mishap.

Ventura Country, California (September 14, 2022) – One person was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Wednesday afternoon in Moorpark.
The deadly collision happened on Highway 118 near Grimes Canyon Road at around 2:20 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles collided head-on on the highway in unclear circumstances.
Officials say one person was killed in the accident.
The identity of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
Another person suffered minor injuries in the accident.
