, California (September 16, 2022) – Emily Bailey, 16, of Lancaster, was killed in a car collision that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster, according to a report by the Lancaster Sheriff's Station.

At around 2:10 p.m. on September 14, Bailey and another teen were driving east on Avenue H in a Toyota Camry when they failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of 30th Street West.

The Camry collided at the intersection with a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south.

Bailey suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The other occupant of the Camry, identified as Jeffery Austin, 18, of Lancaster, died at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the Silverado was not under the influence at the time of the collision but it was unclear whether the Camry driver was intoxicated.

An investigation into the deadly incident is ongoing.
