Caleb Carias-Jurado ID'd as 29-Year-Old Man Killed in Fresno Accident on Highway 99 near Shaw Avenue
Fresno, California (September 20, 2022) – The man who was killed in a collision involving a motorcyclist on Friday night in Fresno has been identified as Caleb Carias-Jurado, 29, of Ceres, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at about 7:30 p.m. September 18, on Highway 99, just north of Shaw Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Carias-Jurado was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Highway 99 in the far left lane when he came upon an obstruction in the roadway and collided with it.
The impact ejected Carias-Jurado into the far-right lane, where he was struck by a southbound Toyota Corolla operated by a 28-year-old woman.
Carias-Jurado died of his injuries at Community Regional Medical Center following the accident.
The operator of the Toyota was not hurt and did not show signs of impairment.
The CHP is investigating the collision.

Fresno, California (September 19, 2022) – A man was killed in a crash involving a motorcyclist in Fresno on Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on September 18, on Highway 99, just north of Shaw Avenue.
According to the report, a 29-year-old man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Highway 99 in the far left lane when he collided with an obstruction in the roadway and was ejected into the far-right lane.
The rider was then struck by a southbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 28-year-old woman.
CHP said the motorcyclist died of his injuries at a hospital.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured and did not show signs of impairment.
An investigation into the deadly motorcycle collision is ongoing.
