One Dies in Orange Car Accident on Lewis Street and Metropolitan Drive
Orange, California (September 20, 2022) – One person was killed in a crash at an intersection in Orange on Monday morning, according to the Orange Police Department.
The incident took place in the area of Lewis Street and Metropolitan Drive at about 9:13 a.m. September 19.
According to police, an SUV was driving west on Metropolitan Drive when the driver failed to stop for a red light and collided with a pickup truck heading south on Lewis Street.
The impact caused the truck to strike a signal pole, then it rolled onto its side.
The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old Orange man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The operator of the SUV, a Garden Grove man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The Orange Police Department is investigating the incident.
