, Calif. – A male bicycle rider was struck and killed by a vehicle near Navajo Road in Apple Valley Tuesday evening.

According to the deadly accident was reported at around 5:48 p.m. near Navajo Road and Ottawa Road.

A pickup truck hit a bicycle rider in the area in unclear circumstances.

The male victim, whose name was not immediately disclosed died at the scene.

The driver behind the wheel stayed at the site and cooperated with the investigators.

Navajo Road was closed in both directions between Ottawa and Powhatan Road for several hours as officers investigated the wreck.

No more information about the collision was provided.
