Los Angeles, Calif. – A woman in her 40s died after being struck by a car in South Los Angeles on Tuesday.
At around 6:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a pedestrian accident near Vernon Avenue and Western Avenue.
A 42-year-old woman was walking in the area and was struck by a car.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The involved motorist initially left the scene but later returned and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
