Los Angeles, Calif. – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision in Universal City on Thursday night.

The accident happened around 10:10 p.m. on the 101 Freeway near the Lankershim Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A vehicle spun out due to a rain-soaked road and slammed into the center divider. A Good Samaritan stopped at the scene to render aid, causing a chain-reaction collision involving multiple vehicles.

One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles before being transported to an area hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
