The California Highway Patrol responded to a deadly head-on collision on Wednesday night.

One Killed, Two Hospitalized after Inyokern Car Accident on Dove Springs Wednesday Night

Inyokern, Calif. – One person was killed and two others were hospitalized after head-on collision in Inyokern on Wednesday night.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the wreck at 8:25 p.m. on December 20. 

A 2023 Mazda collided head-on with a second vehicle on Dove Springs in unclear circumstances.

The Mazda driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person had to be extracted from their vehicle and was taken to the hospital along with another person.

Two other parties were treated at the scene.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

A dog was also found, alive, and tended to by firefighters. The dog was returned to the owner by Kern County Animal Services.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the wreck.

Additional information regarding the incident was not provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
