A woman crossing the street was hit and killed by a driver who was later arrested on suspicion of driving while drunk

Anaheim, Calif. – A woman died, and a DUI suspect was arrested after a pedestrian accident that happened Saturday evening in Anaheim, Authorities said.
The accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Brookhurst Street, just north of Ball Road.
According to Anaheim police, a woman crossing the street was hit by a car under unclear circumstances.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The car driver stopped and remained at the scene. The motorist was later arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Investigators closed Brookhurst Street in both directions between Ball Road and Orange Avenue for several hours as they worked the scene.
