Woman and Child Injured in Eugene Pedestrian Accident at Gilham Road and Elkhorn Drive

Eugene, Ore. – A 24-year-old woman and her 16-month-old child were injured after being struck by a car at an intersection in Eugene on Saturday night.

The accident happened at Gilham Road and Elkhorn Drive at around 5:57 p.m., according to the Eugene Police Department.

The woman was pushing a stroller across the intersection when they were hit by a car driven by a 27-year-old man.

The child was ejected from the stroller and was flown to the Portland area for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The mother was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
