, Calif. – The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Malibu on Sunday evening has been identified as Jose Alfonso De Lira Piedra, 32, of , according to the County Medical Examiner's Office.

The wreck happened in the 33400 block of the Pacific Coast Highway at about 6 p.m. December 24.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said De Lira Piedra was riding a motorcycle southbound on the PCH when he collided with a vehicle.

De Lira Piedra was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A section of the PCH was shut down as authorities investigated the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
