The crash on Highway 108 involved a Ford Explorer, a Ford Expedition, and a Ford 150

Sonora, Calif. – Joshua Engle, 23, of Modesto, was hurt in a car accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon in Sonora, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident took place at around noon December 26, on Highway 108, nearly half a mile west of Hess Avenue.
The crash involved a Ford Explorer, a Ford Expedition, and a Ford 150.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as Engle, was airlifted to a Modesto hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Sherri Lee, 70, of Sonora, who was driving the Expedition, was being treated for minor to moderate injuries at Adventist Health Sonora.
The driver of the Ford F-150, Michael Kindberg, 61, of Hilmar, sustained minor injuries.
A section of Highway 108 was shut down as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
