The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said a motorist was hospitalized in critical condition after a head-on collision on Rancho Cordova Parkway

Sacramento, Calif. – A driver was transported to a hospital in critical condition after a head-on collision in Rancho Cordova Friday morning.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the incident was reported on Rancho Cordova Parkway between Cobble Brook Drive and Douglas Road.
Two vehicles collided head-on in the area in unclear circumstances.
The driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition for treatment.
The impact of the wreck temporarily closed Rancho Cordova Parkway between Cobble Brook Drive, Douglas Road and Aura Way. All roadways reopened as of 10:15 a.m.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
