Fatal Head-On Collision on Glenoaks Boulevard at Elm Avenue in Glendale

, Calif. – A 70-year-old male passenger was killed in a head-on collision Monday night on Glenoaks Boulevard in Glendale.

According to the Glendale Police Department, the incident happened at around 8:24 p.m. on Glenoaks Boulevard at Elm Avenue.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a 23-year-old driver of a black BMW was westbound when he lost control of the vehicle, drifted into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a silver Honda.

The passenger in the Honda was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The driver of the Honda, only identified as 70-year-old,  was hospitalized with a broken leg and pelvis.

The BMW driver was also hospitalized with injuries. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI, although it was not known whether he was impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.

No additional information about the wreck was provided.

An investigation is underway.
