Fatal Log Truck Crash on Highway 101 in Grays Harbor County

Grays Harbor County, Wash. – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash involving a log truck that occurred in late December in Grays Harbor County.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the wreck happened at around 9:53 a.m. on Friday, December 29 on Highway 101.

Reportedly, a Subaru station wagon was headed southbound and collided with the log truck, which was also headed southbound, while attempting to turn left.

Both vehicles came to rest on the west side of the road, with logs spilled around the area. The road was closed partially and completely for periods during the response and subsequent investigation.

The car's driver, only identified as a 76-year-old man, was declared dead at the crash site.
The truck driver, who was not believed to be impaired at the time of the crash, sustained no injuries.
No additional details regarding the collision were provided.
An investigation is underway.
