Lopez was driving a Nissan Cube westbound when she crossed the double-yellow line into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Honda Civic driven by Mitchell.

Lake County, Calif. – 46-year-old Lisa Lopez, of Lakeport, and 28-year-old Kimberly Renee Mitchell, of Redwood Valley, have been identified as the women who died in a head-on collision in Lake County on December 26.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident was reported around 8:50 p.m. on Highway 20, just west of Bachelor Valley Road.
Lopez was driving a Nissan Cube westbound when she crossed the double-yellow line into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Honda Civic driven by Mitchell.
Lopez and Mitchel were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two were the only occupants in their cars.
The crash remains under investigation.
