Man Hospitalized after a Three-Vehicle Collision on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez

Santa Ynez, Calif. – A male driver was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision in Santa Ynez Friday afternoon.

The Santa Barbara Fire County Department and the CHP responded to the wreck at around 1:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Highway 246, west of Skytt Drive.

 A Toyota 4Runner, a Chevy Suburban and a Mini Cooper were involved in the wreck. How they collided was not immediately established.

One driver was airlifted by CalStar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries for treatment.

The highway was blocked for several hours during the on-scene investigation.

No more information about the wreck was provided.

An investigation is underway.
