Police said a man was driving eastbound on Dobbins Road when he tried to make a left turn onto Central Avenue and collided with an eastbound vehicle that tried to pass him.

, Ariz. – A was hit and injured by a vehicle driven by a suspected DUI driver in Phoenix early Saturday morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident took place on Dobbins Road and Central Avenue shortly after 1 a.m.

Police said a man was driving eastbound on Dobbins Road when he tried to make a left turn onto Central Avenue and collided with an eastbound vehicle that tried to pass him.

The man was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.

The other driver, Jesten Calderon Jimenez, 26, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and aggravated assault, among other charges.

The incident is under investigation.
